Custom Blue Zircon and Round Brilliant Diamond Pendant in 22kt

A dear friend and client purchased this gem at a Gemstone Round Table Event held in my gallery.  The pendant is fabricated in 22kt yellow and designed in a spiral pattern.  There are 22kt discs as well as VS, F-G round brilliant diamonds sprinkled around the zircon.  The diamonds weigh .14 cttw and the blue zircon is a 4.00 ct. oval.  A hidden bail is on the back of the pendant to give a clean, contemporary look.

Zircon gems are natural (they are not cubic zirconia, a diamond substitute) and come in a variety of colors.  The stone has a high dispersion and refractive index, giving zircon its exceptional brilliance and flashes of color that outshine diamond.  This shimmery gemstone, Blue Zircon, is one of my favorites.    Zircon crystals are also used for radiation and uranium dating in geology and science fields.
