Portuguese Cross Pendant
This coin was actually minted in Spain, but for the first Queen Regnant of Portugal, Maria I. Maria was the only child of the King Joseph. She married her uncle who became Peter III of Portugal. The Cross on the obverse is a variant of the cross potent, devised by Henry the Navigator, called the Order of Christ Cross or simply Christ Cross.
