Sterling Silver Horse Basket Charm

Price starts at: $42

Sterling Silver Horse Basket Charm-Pre-dating ceramics, basketmaking is one of the oldest known crafts, with its earliest evidence dating to approximately 6,000 B.C. Native American baskets were originally used for food gathering, storage, cooking, and even ceremonial rituals but as with all utilitarian items of the Native Americans, they were also an expression of art and Tribal identity. Women used basketry cradles to hold babies, and they wove basketry caps for personal adornment. Basket materials included grasses, bark, roots, willow, sedge, conifer root, yucca, and ferns, which were gathered and processed specifically for weaving. My tribute charm features a warhorse design.  The Southwest Enchanted Charm Collection is available in Sterling Silver and 14kt.
